Shri P.K.Salve Kala Pratishthan

By the Grace of our Holy Mother “Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi”, I was blessed to be born in a family of Musicians. Hence, since childhood I got all the music lessons at home. But, it was only when I came to Sahaja Yoga in 1989 that my creativity was enlightened and I got the real understanding of Indian Classical Music.

I learnt Tabla, Guitar, Dholak, Harmonium and many other instruments from my father Shri Shankar Kashinath Shivling. He is a Maestro Vocalist (Light Music) and knows to play many instruments (Harmonium, Sysnthesizer, Tabla, Drums, etc.).

About my grandfather, he was a well-known Hindustani Classical vocalist from ‘Gwaliar Gharana’. He was associated with many great musicians of his time such as Pt. Jitendra Abhisheki, Pt. Vaze, and many more. Also, all these great artists used to gather at our residence during Shivratri jagran where everyone performed their art throughout the night. Hence, it’s from them, where I got all my learning and am very much thankful to them.

I have been co-ordinating the Mumbai Music Group from past 15 years and during this period I have been performing & co-ordinating in various events and concerts of Sahaj. I was Blessed with opportunites by Shri Mataji to perform in Her Divine presence many times. From past few months, I am teaching Tabla at Shri P. K. Salve Kala Pratishthan.
